  • Description: A scarce Arabic-printed edition of Al-Durr al-Maknūn fī Sharḥ Risālat Ibn Zaydūn, a scholarly commentary on the celebrated epistle of the Andalusian poet and statesman Ibn Zaydūn. Printed in Cairo in 1926 (1345 AH), this work reflects the enduring importance of classical Arabic literature in the early twentieth century and was produced for students and scholars of Arabic language and rhetoric. Presented in its original publisher's wrappers, the volume retains an appealing, entirely unrestored appearance, with the warm patina and honest signs of use expected of a book that has been preserved for nearly a century.
  • Condition: Good. Original printed wrappers with overall toning, scattered soiling, and handling wear. The spine is heavily worn with loss to the covering material, exposing the text block in places, while the covers show rubbing, creasing, and minor corner wear. A couple of pages are loose due to the weakened binding, but all pages are present and complete. Internally, the contents are generally clean with age-related toning consistent with the paper stock of the period. A sound, unrestored copy that remains complete despite its evident signs of use.
