- Note: The image is a poster commemorating the "heroes of the Ma'alot / Tarshiha operation" of May 15, 1974. The poster was issued by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP). The three individuals featured in the poster are identified by name: Ziad Qa'iq (Ziad), Ali Hussein al-Atmeh (Linou), and Ahmad Saleh Durdor (Harbi). They were the DFLP militants who carried out the attack.
The Ma'alot massacre was a terrorist attack in Ma'alot-Tarshiha, Israel, in which DFLP militants took over a school where over 100 students were staying on a field trip. The militants demanded the release of 23 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. During a rescue attempt by Israeli commandos, the attackers killed 22 schoolchildren and 4 adults before they were killed themselves.
