Description: Octavo. Original printed wrappers with cloth-backed spine, guilted. Arabic text within decorative borders. Printed in Beirut in 1888 at the Catholic Press of the Jesuit Fathers. A scarce early Arabic imprint, attractively produced and representative of late 19th-century Levantine printing. The volume presents well, retaining its original covers and structure, and offers an appealing example of period craftsmanship and typography.
Condition: Good. Covers toned and darkened with age, with scattered foxing, staining, and light surface soiling. Minor insect perforations to the front cover, not affecting text. Edges and corners rubbed with small chips and wear. Corners bumped. Spine cloth worn with light fraying, but binding remains firm and sound. Tears on spine. Internally clean and complete, with uniform age-toning.
