Description: Two volumes, bound in contemporary half-leather bindings over green cloth-covered boards. Spines with raised bands and gilt decoration, now substantially rubbed and worn. A handsome early binding with evidence of age and use.
Condition: Good, with substantial wear to the bindings. The leather spines are heavily rubbed, with extensive loss of the surface and gilt decoration, particularly along the raised bands and edges. The boards show numerous small holes and perforations from historic bookworm activity, most concentrated around the edges and lower portions of the bindings. Minor tears along few page edges. Corners and extremities are worn, with areas of leather loss exposing the underlying material. Bindings remain intact. Internally complete and sound.
